Let's start bench-repair-3. This garden-bench fixit project is well on it's way to making your yard look better. For you DIY folks, this step should go smoothly so let's get started with the final steps

All your rails are cut and ready for the final steps prior to reassembling the garden-bench. If you have a router you can soften the edges of the bottom rails using a round-over router bit. If you don't have a router, simply soften the edges by hand with a sanding block, small block plane, random orbit or finishing sander.

In this Fixit step we're drilling the mounting holes for the rails. Using the old rails as a template, measure the location of the mounting holes and transfer that measurement to each rail. Now measure the original mounting bolt's diameter and choose a drill bit slightly larger than the bolt. Drill the small hole first especially if you are using a hand drill.
