Bench-Repair-3
Let's start bench-repair-3. This garden-bench
fixit project is well on it's
way to making your
yard look better. For you DIY folks, this step should go smoothly so
let's get started with the final steps
All your rails are cut and ready for the final
steps prior to
reassembling the garden-bench. If you have a router you can soften the
edges of the bottom rails using
a round-over router bit. If you don't have a router, simply soften the
edges by hand with a sanding block, small block plane, random orbit or
finishing sander.
In this Fixit step we're drilling the mounting
holes for the rails.
Using the old rails as a template, measure the location of the mounting
holes and transfer that measurement to each rail. Now measure the
original mounting bolt's diameter and choose a drill bit slightly
larger than the bolt. Drill the small hole first especially if you are
using a hand drill.
