I love kitchens... Don't you? These days it's the most popular room in the house. That's why, when I decided to remodel part of my home... the kitchen was the obvious choice. I love to entertain and everyone eventually gathers there so I figured the bigger the better. As you can see from the before photo, mine needed some work.

Today's homes are built around big open ones and I wanted to bring my 1970's home into the present moment. What I ended up getting was more than an education. Being my own general contractor, sub-contractor... and laborer it took me literally 12 months to complete the project down to the smallest detail. In this section I'm going to share with you all of my lessons learned and plenty of how-to techniques.

I'm especially proud of the concrete countertops which I pored myself. I'd never done decorative concrete countertops before and they were a labor of love cause it wasn't an easy task. The Brazilian Cherry hardwood flooring is also a nice feature. A year is a long time for a kitchen home improvement project so bare with me as I put together all the sections... My goal is to put it together in much less time than it took me to complete the projects so keep checking back often for new pages.
