Garlic-Mashed-Potatoes... Easy & Delicious Anytime Recipe!

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Just about everyone I know loves to BBQ... But have you ever made creamy garlic-mashed-potatoes to go along with it? It's probably the easiest side to make and it goes great with a home-made green-bean-casserole

These mashed taters are a great holiday recipe and it's easier than plugging in your blender! Heck, it's a great anytime recipe. Check it out below...

Here's what you're going to need.

4 medium sized baking potatoes (or 1 per person)

2 tablespoons sea salt (or kosher)

5 tablespoons butter (softened to room temperature) (or about 1 per potato)

1/4 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon (or more for desired consistency) whole mile or half & half

6-8 cloves garlic peeled (did I mention I like garlic?)

Freshly ground black pepper... oh yea some more salt to taste

Handyman-Tip: For an added kick to the flavor add some freshly grated Parmesan cheese. You be the judge on the amount and make it your own unique recipe.

What to do next...

1. Peel the potatoes (if you like) and chop them into large pieces. Peel the garlic and leave the cloves whole for now.

2. Put the potatoes and the peeled garlic into a sauce pan and cover with water.

3. Place it on medium high and bring them to a boil, reduce the heat to maintain a rolling boil. Cook the potatoes and garlic until you can easily break the potatoes apart with a fork, about 15-20 minutes (more time at higher altitudes).

4. While that's cooking warm the sour cream and milk if it's still cold from the fridge.

5. Once the potatoes and garlic are done, drain the water and return them to the pan.

6. Add butter, sour cream, sea salt and mash with a potato masher until well blended. Add the half-half or milk, a tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved. Add more salt and pepper as needed... or let everyone salt and pepper to their own tastes.

Now... Serve and enjoy!
