Why a Dust
Collecting... Random-Orbit-Sander?
For the serious DIY'er, a dust collecting
random-orbit-sander is handyman hardware you don't want to do without.
If you are making drywall repairs, prep-sanding for exterior painting,
or refinishing a piece of furniture, the ability to collect your dust
as you sand is time saving efficiency at it's best. If you've ever made
a drywall repair you know that the dust produced by sanding can
penetrate every little nook and cranny of your home.
Since time is money in the handyman business you
must be able to get your work done quickly. Leaving a job site as clean
as or cleaner than how you found it is the only way to do business.
That's why if you have to sand, use a sander that has a vacuum
attachment and a cordless 2.5gal vacuum.
A cordless vacuum isn't necessary but it sure is
convenient. I have the 6 inch Ridged sander and a Ridged 9
gal wet/dry vacuum that allows me to sand a drywall repair without
leaving a mess. (For drywall repairs use a fast setting joint
compound). Basically, if you have to sand inside, you don't want to be
without this. My next purchase of handyman hardware will be a cordless
wet/dry vac, it's more compact and easier to get on and off the job
than what I use now.
